Australian opening batter David Warner took a brutal dig at England’s pacer Stuart Broad and said that he has got to earn a selection in the playing XI, before troubling the Aussie batters.

Speaking to The Age, David Warner said that he would play Stuart Broad with a positive approach in the upcoming marquee event.

“He’s got to get selected first. I don’t really have any plans, to be honest, so if he gets selected, then I’ll adjust when I’m out there,” David Warner said.

David Warner slammed Cricket Australia for not moving on from the ‘sandpapergate’ ball-tampering and said that he just wants to put it to bed. Notably, Warner, Steve Smith, and Cameron Bancroft served bans following the controversy in 2018.

Ahead of the Ashes 2023, the Pat Cummins-led team will take on India in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final, which will be held at the Oval in London between June 7 and 11.
