Asia Cup 2023: 'India Afraid To Play And Lose To Pakistan'

India are afraid to play and lose against Pakistan! This is what former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi has to say over the recent development regarding the venues for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 as he has continued to take shots as BCCI.
Najam Sethi was still at helm when the PCB tried its best to ensure that the Asia Cup takes place entirely in Pakistan. However, the PCB had no option but to come up with the hybrid model proposal after India made it clear that they would not travel to Pakistan for the competition due to security reasons.
The Najam Sethi-led board had also proposed UAE as the neutral venue but the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) refused it and eventually finalised Sri Lanka as the other venue. As result, Pakistan are hosting 4 games while Sri Lanka are hosting the other 9 in the ongoing tournament.
Najam Sethi takes another dig at BCCI:
Hosting the games in Sri Lanka at this time of the year was always going to be a risk because of rain threat and the rain has indeed been playing spoilsport. The game between India and Pakistan was washed out while rain interrupted the match between India and Nepal too. The weather forecast for the upcoming games is not promising either.
Recent media reports stated that the ACC was contemplating shifting the venues of Super 4 matches from Colombo to Hambantota to avoid the rain threat. However, the ACC later confirmed that the tournament would take place as scheduled. As a result, all of the games will take place in Colombo despite the huge threat of rain.
And Najam Sethi was not at all impressed with the ball. On Tuesday night, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to vent his frustration. He posted a screenshot of weather forecast of Colombo and Hambantota and wrote:
“BCCI/ACC informed PCB today that they had decided to shift next India-Pak match from Colombo to Hambantota because of rain forecasts. Within one hour they changed their mind and announced Colombo as the venue. What’s going on? Is India afraid to play and lose to Pakistan ? Look at the rain forecast,” wrote Sethi.
