India squad for Asia Cup 2023 was revealed by BCCI on Monday. A total of 17 players were picked for Asia Cup 2023 squad. However, Yuzvendra Chahal failed to get a place in the squad, which came as a big shock to many fans.

In the spin department, Kuldeep Yadav was picked as the primary spinner for India in Asia Cup 2023. Spin all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel were also picked in the squad.

Notably, Yuzvendra Chahal faltered in his performance in ODIs this year. Moreover, Kuldeep Yadav’s excellent performance in ODIs led the way for Yuzvendra Chahal’s ouster.

Since the start of 2023, Yadav was marvelous in the 50-over format. In 2023, the 28-year-old spinner has hunted 22 wickets in 11 games so far. He is also the leading wicket-taker for India in ODIs this year. At an economy of just 4.87, Yadav has done a brilliant job in ODIs.

Asia Cup 2023 commences on August 30 in Pakistan. India is part of Group A with Pakistan and Nepal in their pool. India will face Pakistan in their first match on September 2. There are six teams in Asia Cup 2023. They are India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
