Shakib Al Hasan is among the possible three candidates who can be chosen as the next ODI captain for Bangladesh. Along with Shakib, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz are the other names that are being discussed as per reports in ESPN Cricinfo.

BCB President Nazmul Hasan is believed to have spoken with all the candidates. Shakib has led Bangladesh in ODI cricket in the past. He was the captain of the side in the 2011 ODI World Cup. Shakib is currently the Test and the T20I skipper as well.

The post of captaincy is left vacant since Tamim Iqbal stepped down from captaincy and was ruled out of Asia Cup 2023. Previously he made a return to international cricket within 24 hours of announcing his retirement in dramatic circumstances.
