England Cricket Team would be over the moon after winning their 2nd T20 World Cup. The team showed great spirit and made one of the greatest comebacks after losing against Ireland in the Group Stage. Ben Stokes proved to be the silent assassin as he played a match-winning knock in the final against Pakistan.
Pakistan on the other hand would rue the fact that they were not able to pick wickets at regular intervals of the match. The Men in Green should be proud of their campaign as they didn’t panic after losing the first 2 matches. Skipper Babar Azam supported the team in tough times.
Jos Buttler on Ben Stokes
Jos Butter made some interesting comments on Ben Stokes. “He always stands up in the biggest moments. He’s a man who can take a lot of pressure on his shoulders and perform. With him in the middle, you know you’ve got a good chance.”
“He’s a true match-winner and he’s been there in those scenarios time and time again. He just has a lot of know-how for how to do that. It certainly wasn’t his most fluent innings or he probably didn’t time the ball as well as he can, but we knew he was never going to go down without a fight and stand up and be there at the end.” he added.
Unstoppable England
England Cricket Team is on a roll at the moment as their ultra-aggressive approach has been quite fruitful. We should not forget that the batters are quite good at rotating the strike which frustrates the bowlers a lot. The addition of Alex Hales to the team made their top order ominous.
Jos Buttler, the skipper was quite instrumental in rotating the bowlers. It didn’t look like Buttler was captaining the team for the first time in the ICC tournaments. The management’s decision to make Sam Curran as a permanent member of the team proved to be quite decisive as he not only took 13 wickets but was quite disciplined in his approach.
