AUS vs ENG: "I Wonder Now If They Are Playing With More Fear Of Losing"- Glenn McGrath Believes Australia Needs To Play Freely

Glenn McGrath, a former Australian bowler, has urged the national team to learn from England’s white-ball cricket strategy. According to McGrath, Australia must play bravely and without fear of failing.
On home turf, Australia’s T20 World Cup effort was unsuccessful. They lost their first game to New Zealand by a score of 89 runs, which led to their elimination from the group stages.
England, on the other hand, had all of their bases covered and deservedly won the T20 World Cup.
The Australian Team Always Played Fearless Cricket: Glenn McGrath
The 52-year-old said he has always associated Australia with fearless cricket because he thinks it produces the best results in an interview with AAP.
“The Australian team always played fearless cricket. I wonder now if they are playing with more fear of losing. You just have to go out and back yourselves. That is the brand of cricket England are playing at the moment. When you play that brand of cricket things tend to go your way more.”
The 124-Test veteran Glenn McGrath continued to stress the importance of striking a balance.
“I always say, if you can get players to go out there and play without fear, it’s amazing what you can achieve. You still have to play intelligent cricket. Don’t go out and throw caution to the wind with shots that aren’t there. It’s about getting that balance right, and that is where the Aussies need to get back to.”
Following their group-stage elimination from the 2015 World Cup in Australia, England’s white-ball revolution got underway. Eoin Morgan led them to their first 50-over World Cup victory four years later, and Jos Buttler led England to their second T20 World Cup victory.
Glenn McGrath Disagrees On Current England Team Being The Best White-ball Team In History
Glenn McGrath reckons there have been more greater limited-overs sides in history, despite the fact that he thinks the current English team is fantastic.
“I would have to disagree with (England being the best). There have been some quality and amazing teams over the years. I would like to say we could give them a decent run for their money, if not better than that. But they’re pretty handy this English unit, as much as it pains to me to say.”
The next objective for England is to successfully defend their 50-over championship in India in 2019. Their three-match ODI series against Australia on Thursday serves as the start of their preparations.
