Veteran fast bowler Josh Hazlewood expressed his hope to be part of the playing XI in the remaining two Test matches against England in the ongoing Ashes series. Josh Hazlewood mentioned that taking a break from the last Test proved beneficial as it allowed him to regain his fitness.

Josh Hazlewood has been struggling with injuries in recent times. The right-arm pacer missed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) and the World Test Championship (WTC) final. He returned to the playing XI for the first Test and retained his place in the lineup for the second Test.

Good To Be Back Here – Josh Hazlewood

Speaking ahead of the fourth Test against England, Josh Hazlewood said that he is ready to play the next match. The pacer recalled his performances at this venue during the Ashes 2019.

“I obviously sat the last game out and I feel better for it. Having a rest and getting a bit of strength back has helped me in getting ready for this game,” Hazlewood said.

I Felt Pretty Good Going Into The Game – Josh Hazlewood

The 32-year-old pacer indirectly criticized England’s aggressive style of play, called “Bazball,” by stating that it reduces the workload for fast bowlers.

“I felt pretty good to be honest. We haven’t bowled a lot of overs in terms of what Test matches usually look like for us,” he further stated.

“The way England play, it gets us in the field for a little less in terms of workload. I felt pretty good going into the game. It was probably the right call now I can sit back and look at the big picture. I was desperate to play, which is obvious, but now it makes sense.”

The upcoming fourth Ashes Test is scheduled to start on Wednesday, July 19, at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. Australia are currently leading the series 2-1 and on the verge of registering their first red-ball series triumph in England since 2001.
