AUS vs ENG: Moeen Ali Opens Up On Receiving Help From NHS Worker To Recover From Injury

England all-rounder Moeen Ali revealed how a worker from NHS helped him to recover after his hand injury in the first Test of the Ashes 2023. He said that she sent him a substance that worked wonders and healed him in a quick time. 

Moeen Ali made a surprise return to Test cricket as he took back his retirement and joined England’s team for the ongoing Ashes 2023. He had a decent comeback but he struggled to bowl as faced an injury while bowling.

Moeen Ali developed a blister on his right index finger during the first Test and then couldn’t grip the ball well. He landed the balls short and was taken to runs. Following his injury, he didn’t play the second game at Lord’s and then made a staggering return in the third Test at Headingley.

Moeen Ali revealed how one NHS worker sent her something called Medihoney, which is an anti-bacterial gel made of Manuka honey, which healed him real quickly. Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said:

“She said she saw the wound and cut on the finger. We want to send you some stuff to help. She sent me this thing called Medihoney. It is a healing anti-bacterial gel made of Manuka honey. It has worked wonders and started healing extremely fast. Now, I will carry on bowling to keep it as hard as it is. I want to keep bowling every two or three days.”

Ashes 2023: “I find it an amazing thing,” Moeen Ali says he will email the NHS worker back after the series 

Moeen Ali further went on to say that he will email the NHS worker back after the Ashes 2023 as he found that gel amazing. He highlighted that things like these make England beautiful. He remarked: 

“She just said she used it herself. She works for the NHS. I’m going to email her back after the series. I find it an amazing thing. I am playing cricket and somebody who has never met me is generous enough to do that. That is why England is an amazing place because of things like that.” 

Moeen Ali played a crucial role with the ball in Headingley Test and has been named in the squad for the 4th Test. The next game of the Ashes 2023 will be played at Old Trafford from 19th July.
