Liam Livingstone, England’s batsman, has stated that he was not entirely fit during the event. The all-rounder was critical to England’s success in the T20 World Cup.

Livingstone was not a member of England’s squad in the run-up to the tournament due to an injury sustained during The Hundred in August. The player returned to the team relatively late and was able to secure a spot in the starting XI.

“One morning in London, I slid down a kerb while trying to avoid a puddle. The entire season flashed before my eyes. It was a 12-week injury, and the first World Cup game was seven weeks and four days away “In an interview with Sports Mail, Livingstone explained.

Livingstone said that despite the difficulties of fast-tracking, he had only begun to run a week before their tournament opener.

“It’s still not 100 percent, and it wasn’t during the World Cup. I didn’t start sprinting until a week before the first World Cup game, but seeing my mother and father fly home with a World Cup medal made all the effort worthwhile “Livingstone remarked.

Liam Livingstone Withdraw From BBL Due To His International Commitments

Liam Livingstone, who was instrumental in England’s T20 World Cup success earlier this month, has formally withdrawn from the remainder of the campaign due to increased international obligations.

Andre Russell, the brilliant West Indian all-rounder who was overlooked in the drafting, will take the place of the Englishman for the Renegades’ first four games this month.

Russell’s availability will be limited to only four games, but the Renegades are said to be close to recruiting a substitute who will be more available for the rest of the season than for the games that Livingstone has opted out of.

The batter is set to feature in England’s Test squad vs Pakistan. The series is scheduled to start on 1 December.
