New Zealand Cricket Team had won the toss and had opted to bat first. The Black Caps had a topsy-turvy innings where they somehow managed to put a decent target of 160 runs and the team got bundled out inside 20 overs.  Devon Conway & Glenn Phillips stuck half-centuries and were involved in a 86 runs partnership.

Indian Cricket Team was dealt with a blow as Ishan Kishan was dismissed in the 2nd over. The left-handed batter played a shot too many. In the very next over Rishabh Pant got out and was dismissed by Tim Southee. The wicket-keeper batter wasn’t able to control the shot and his catch was taken at the third man by Ish Sodhi. The batter managed to score 11 runs in 5 balls.

Rishabh Pant would be utterly disappointed as once again his shot selection was not up to the mark. Pant was promoted up the order to up the ante and make an impact, but it looks like the management will have to rethink on their decision.

With the departure of openers, India would be hoping that Suryakumar Yadav once again plays a terrific knock for the team. The dashing right-handed batter was in sublime touch in the 2nd T20I match where he struck his 2nd T20I century.
