David Warner Is A Huge Personality: Australian Skipper Pat Cummins
“It’s going to be hard to replace Davey, he’s basically played every game for the last dozen years, he’s a huge personality; he really sets the game up with the way he plays every time he walks out. He’s going to be huge to replace. We’ll enjoy him for the next day or so while we’ve still got him around,” Cummins was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation ceremony.
The Australian think tank is looking for the ideal man to replace David Warner at the top. Travis Head, Cameron Bancroft, Marcus Harris, and even Steve Smith are considered options to replace Warnet at the top. The coach and the skipper will have a deep discussion on the same now that the Test series is over.
Warner announced his ODI retirement as well earlier this week. However, he is open to playing in the Champions Trophy 2025, and hence a comeback to ODI cricket is on the cards for the southpaw.
“I heard it’s Davey’s last Test match apparently. It’s going to be hard to replace Davey. He’s basically played every game for the last dozen years. His huge personality, he really sets the game up with the way he way he plays every time he walk out. He’s going to be huge to replace. We’ll enjoy for the next day or so while we still got him around. A week at home before we get down to Adelaide. A good time to reflect on this series but also the year that’s been and obviously on Davey’s career” said Cummins in the post-match presentation.
