Australian skipper Pat Cummins dismissed Michael Clarke’s suggestion that he would be dropped from the Australian side in the ICC World Cup 2023. Pat Cummins confirmed that an unchanged team is likely to be picked for the upcoming match against Pakistan.

Michael Clarke recently stated that he had inside information about Pat Cummins being dropped from the team for the World Cup match against Sri Lanka. However, Cummins led the Australian team to a victory by five wickets in Lucknow on Monday, October 16.

It’s Getting Better Each Day – Pat Cummins

Speaking ahead of the match against Pakistan, Pat Cummins downplayed Michael Clarke’s suggestion of being dropped, stating that he didn’t make much of it. Cummins confirmed that Zampa’s issue is improving and shouldn’t be worse in the upcoming match against Pakistan.

“(I didn’t make) much (of it) really. Yeah, a couple of boys let me know I’d been dropped. So that was interesting,” Cummins said on Thursday.

“Still lingering. But yeah, I think it’s getting better each day. So yeah, shouldn’t be any worse than last game,” Cummins said.

Adam Zampa took four wickets and conceded 47 in his eight overs during the match. The leg spinner was rewarded with Player of the Match against Sri Lanka. However, Zampa mentioned he played despite back spasms.

It’s Going To Be High Scoring Game – Pat Cummins

The 30-year-old mentioned that Australia would confirm their XI at the toss, but everyone is healthy, so it’s likely to be a similar team. He anticipated a high-scoring match on a traditionally batter-friendly pitch in Bengaluru.

“Everyone’s healthy so dare say it will be pretty similar. I dare say it’s going to be high scoring. Smaller field, pitch is always really good here. So yeah, yeah, batting super important. I think the way the guys started last game really set the tone, you know, Mitchy (Marsh) and Davey (Warner) upfront from the first over, taking the game on and that’s what we want from our players. And, you know, they’re working really hard. They’re doing all the right things, I’m sure plenty of runs around the corner.”

They’ve Earned Their Spot So There’s No Easy Games – Pat Cummins

The ace fast bowler emphasized that no team should be underestimated in the competition, acknowledging the Netherlands’ strong performance against South Africa.

“I mean, it’s good. I won’t lie. I think it just evens all the teams out. They played really well. We’ve got them after this game. I think what we’re seeing in this tournament is, you know, it’s 10 really strong sides. It’s not sides sort of just making up numbers. They’ve all qualified, and they’re all here because they’ve earned their spot so there’s no easy games.”
