The SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground) is all set to host the AUS vs PAK Test match from January 3-7 2024. This is the final Test of the three-match series. Australia have already won the series by winning the first two Tests.

Australia won the Perth Test by 360 runs and the MCG Test by 79 runs, They were 16/4 in the second innings and finished on 264 with Mitchell Marsh (96), Steve Smith (50), and Alex Carey (53) coming up with crucial contributions.

Pat Cummins then took five wickets in the second innings to back up his fifer in the first innings. Mitchell Starc took four wickets in the second innings to bowl out Pakistan for 237. This was Pakistan’s 36th Test loss to Australia over the years and the 16th consecutive in Australia.

The SCG Test match will be David Warner’s final Test of his career. He is 305 runs short of getting to 9000 Test runs. With 208 runs, Warner is the second-highest run-getter of this Test series so far. He might well end u as the highest run-getter if he has a good Test match.

Pakistan are down to the fifth position in the WTC points table after losing the second Test. They need to win this Test match to get a few points out of this series. The management is looking to make a few changes to the playing XI for the final test match. They are looking to replace Imam-Ul-Haq with a specialist spinner. Imam scored 10 and 12 in the two innings of the second test.

Pakistan played an all-pace attack and missed a spinner sorely in the XI. Sajid Khan is the specialist spinner on the side. The likes of Abrar Ahmed and Noman are out of the series injured. Speedster Shaheen Afridi is not in the best of form heading into this Test match. He has conceded the most runs among all the bowlers in the series so far.

Australia will be led by Pat Cummins who had had a fabulous year in 2023. He retained the Ashes and won the WTC 2023 final, the World Cup final, and the final Test match of 2023 as well. He would look to start 2024 on a winning note by winning the third Test and wrapping up the series 3-0. Barring any injury concerns, Australis should play the same side in Sydney.

In 71, Test matches Australia hwv won 36 and Pakistan 15. 20 matches ended in a draw. The two teams have played 108 ODIs with Australia winning 70 and Pakistan just 34. In 25 T20Is, Pakistan have won 13 and Australia 11 with one match ending in no result.
