AUS vs SA: Virender Sehwag Slams Australia For Green Top At The Gabba

The 1st Test Match between Australia & South Africa was done and dusted on the 2nd Day itself. A total of 34 wickets fell in 6 sessions of the match which was quite surprising. Nathan Lyon was the only spinner who took 4 wickets on a green surface.
South African batters were clueless against the speedsters as there was steep bounce and it won’t be wrong to say that pitch was a minefield. Australia was set a total of 34 runs and in chasing Australia astoundingly lost 4 wickets where Kagiso Rabada was bowling thunderbolts where he took 4 scalps and was in red hot form.

Virender Sehwag On Australia
Virender Sehwag took to his social media handle and criticized Australia for Gabba wicket.
“142 overs and not even lasting 2 days and they have the audacity to lecture on what kind of pitches are needed. Had it happened in India, it would have been labelled end of test cricket, ruining test cricket and whatnot. The Hypocrisy is mind-boggling #AUSvSA,” said Sehwag.

Wake-up call for Australia
Australia’s batters would be unhappy with their performance as apart from Travis Head, no other batter looked in good touch. The management would be concerned over the form of David Warner as the batter has looked in all sorts of trouble where he has looked in two minds whether to attack or defend.
Skipper Dean Elgar should have battered more responsibly as he is someone who knows to play a long and impactful knock for the team. South Africa doesn’t have a potent batting lineup as the team currently is going through a transition phase. The vice-captain Temba Bavuma needs to make the most of a start as the batter had scored 29 runs in 61 balls and was dismissed by Lyon.
