The West Indies will face Australia in a two-match Test series as part of the ICC Test Championship cycle of 2021–23. The first Test match will be played from November 30 to December 4 at Optus Stadium in Perth, followed by a day-night match at Adelaide Oval from December 8 to 12.

The Australians currently lead the points table, with the West Indies in sixth place. The West Indies won their final Test match on Australian soil in February 1997. Australia appears to be the favorite in these two matches, but the West Indies could surprise with a strong pace bowling attack.

Win Over There Would Be Awesome – David Warner

When asked if this could be his final Test summer on Australian soil ahead of the series opener against the West Indies in Perth on Wednesday, David Warner said that he will reassess his future at the end of the Test summer, with the opener likely to be the first of the current team to retire from red-ball cricket.

“These legs are still fresh. I’m still scoring runs. I’ll have to assess again at the end of the season and speak to the family. I’ve got three beautiful young girls and my wife at home has sacrificed a lot, so there’s a lot of things I have to weigh up,” David Warner said.

“Yeah, looking ahead, I think winning in India is key. We’ve had a lot of series over there, and we haven’t won too many test matches. England is another one – we retained last time, but to win over there would be awesome,” he added.

David Warner wants to win the T20 World Cup along with the Test series in India and England before retiring from Test cricket. Warner has not scored a test century since January 2020. The left-hander averages 24.25 in India and struggled with 95 runs at 9.5 in England in 2019, where Australia retained the Ashes with a drawn series.
