The AUS vs WI 3rd and final T20I will be played in Perth on February 13. The match starts at 1.30 pm IST with West Indies looking to avoid a clean sweep. Australia won the first two games and won the series already.

Australia won the first T20I by 11 runs in Hobart. The second 20I was designed by Glenn Maxwell’s fifth T20I ton. He is the only batter now with five centuries in the format. Australia powered to 241/4 batting first. Maxwell hit 12 fours and 8 sixes during his knock.

The Windies reached as far as 207/9 in the chae with power-hitters Andre Russell (37), Rovman Powell (63), and Jason Holder (16) scoring the runs after the top-order failed to give them a good start. Marcus Stoinis picked up three wickets while Josh Hazlewood and Spender Johnson picked up two each to limit the Windies.

The ODI series loss highlighted the flaws within the cricket board in identifying talent. Now with the T20I series also lost, the West Indies cricket team has serious problems before the T20 World Cup of which they are one of the hosts. Skipper Rovman Powell has a lot to think about ahead of their next game on Tuesday.

The two teams have played 146 ODIs with the Aussies winning 79 matches and West Indies 61. In 21 T20Is, Australia have won 11 games while West Indies 10. The T20I series kicks off the preparations of both teams for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Australia

Australia have dominated the West Indies well and truly in all departments. The team is in a pretty good head space ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.

David Warner performed with the bat in the first T20I while Maxwell mounted the challenge for West Indies in the second. The all-rounders have gone about doing their job in the games so far as well.

Speaking about the Aussie bowling unit, Josh Hazlewood has led the attack in the absence of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. Jason Behrendorff and Spencer Johnson have made the most of their chances in the absence of the senior pacers, and Adam Zampa the specialist T20I spinner has made his presence felt as well.

All in all the bowling and the batting have looked good in the series and will look to continue the good work. Having won the second T20I comfortably, Australia might not consider making any changes.

West Indies

After the ODI series loss, West Indies were expected to bounce back in their favorite format. However, they have been well and truly outplayed. They had their specialists heading into this series with a fair amount of T20 cricket across various T20 leagues.

However, they have not been able to adjust themselves to the conditions in Australia. The bowlers have gone for too many conceding over 200 runs in both the games. The batters despite their big-hitting ability have failed to chase down totals.

Ahead of the T20 World Cup, West Indies, who are one of the hosts of the event need to identify the areas where they are falling behind. The absence of a senior spinner like Sunil Narine is among one of the many reasons.

The bowlers have gone for plenty and the sea =m dominated attack brings a lot of sameness to the bowling attack as well. More than their batting they need to work on their bowling unit if they want to win the T20 World Cup at home.
