Australian Cricket Team’s dynamic all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been injured. It is believed that Marsh has a minor ankle injury. Marsh has a history of being injury prone where he hardly plays 3-4 years of Cricket on a Consistent basis. Many experts believe that half of Marsh’s career has taken a bad hit due to the injuries.

Though, the selectors & management have taken precautionary measures as they want him fully fit for the India tour as well as ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The management knows his importance to the team as he was one of the architects of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 triumph. It would be interesting to see how Mitchell Marsh makes a comeback as there would be a lot of expectations from him in the title defence.

Steven Smith on Mitchell Marsh

Steven Smith was concerned about Mitchell Marsh’s absence. “It’s obviously not ideal for Mitch,” He said. “He’s been playing some really good white-ball cricket recently and the way we set up our team the other day with bulk allrounders, he was obviously a big part of that.

Disappointing for Mitch but there’s some pretty important stuff coming up, he was a big part of the T20 World Cup campaign last year and sure there are big plans for him this year so the priority is to get him right for that.”

“The ball was seaming around a fair bit, there was a bit bounce and the spin was pretty hard to line up as well,” he said. “Some were going straight and some were taking off and bouncing so it wasn’t easy, but good to spend time out there and sure it will serve me well,” he concluded.

Josh Inglis set to replace Mitchell Marsh

Josh Inglis who is currently in England playing The Hundred Format is roped in as Marsh’s replacement. It would be interesting to see whether he gets a chance to play as Marnus Labuschagne is expected to fill his spot as for the first ODI he was dropped.

Cricket Australia would be hoping that they wrap up the ODI Series on Wednesday (31st August) as they would be the way of a powerful comeback from the visitors. Zimbabwe almost had won the 3rd ODI against India in the recently concluded ODI Series and also had given a heart attack Bangladesh by white-washing them.
