Australia is all set to tackle England in a five-match ODI series. Recently, the T20I series between both sides ended in a tie with both sides winning one game each. The last game was washed out due to rain.

Mitchell Marsh leads Australia in the ODI series too and all the key players have returned to the squad. The visitors gave a tough fight to the host in the T20I series and will look for a similar show in the ODI series too.

The 1st ODI takes place on Thursday, September 19. Aussies will form a strong playing 11 for the opening game to outplay the home side. Below we look at Australia's predicted playing 11 for the match.

Travis Head

Travis Head would be the opener for Australia in the 1st ODI. He slammed a good knock of 59 runs in the T20I series and is a permanent opener for the side.

Mitchell Marsh (C)

Mitchell Marsh is the captain of Australia and will be the other opener for the team. He takes the opening slot in the ODIs and has a good experience.

Steve Smith

Steve Smith might take the one-down batting position for the 1st ODI against England. He is one of the crucial members of ODIs and has joined the squad for the ODI series.

Marnus Labuschagne

Marnus Labuschagne will be another middle-order batter for the Aussies in the opening game against England. He proved his worth in the ODI format last year and will look to showcase a magnificent performance against Englishmen.

Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell would be a spin all-rounder for the side. Maxwell is a dangerous lower-order batsman who can smack runs towards the end. He can also grab wickets with his bowling.

Josh Inglis (WK)

Josh Inglis will take the role of wicketkeeper for the side and bat in the lower order. He shattered a century in the T20I series and will look to follow up his form in the ODI series.

Cameron Green would be a pace all-rounder in the playing 11. He played both games during the T20I series and showed good form.

Sean Abbott

Sean Abbott will be one of the pacers in the playing 11. The right-arm pacer showed good form in the T20I series. He has 28 wickets in 21 ODI games.

Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc is back to lead the pace attack for Australia in the ODI series. He will show his best efforts in the ODI games to give a tough challenge to the hosts.

Adam Zampa will lead the spin attack for the team. He was part of the T20I series and gave a good show. He was also brilliant against Scotland in the previous series.
