Openers: Jake Fraser-McGurk, Matthew Short

Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matthew Short are likely to open the innings for the Aussies. Both the players had forgettable outings in the ODI series and will be desperate to make amends in the upcoming series.

Fraser-McGurk looked vulnerable against Pakistan's pace attack as he registered scores of 16, 13, and 7. On the other hand, Short scored 1, 19, and 22 in the three ODI innings.

Middle-order batters and allrounders: Josh Philippe, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Tim David, Aaron Hardie

Josh Philippe could make his return to the Aussie Playing 11 in T20Is after a gap of more than three years. The right-handed batsman has not played a T20I since 2021. He was originally not a part of the squad but was recently recalled as an injury replacement for Cooper Connolly.

Captain Josh Inglis will be looking to lead the team from the front in his first game as a captain of the T20I team. Glenn Maxwell had a disastrous outing in the ODI series where he registered scores of 0, 16, and 0. The veteran all-rounder will be desperate to do well in the upcoming game.
