After two Australian World Cup campaigners were reportedly harassed in India during their World Cup campaign, Australian cricketer Ashleigh Gardner's wife posted on Instagram showing two police constables escorting them to the cafe, while they took a ride across the city in a taxi.

India is currently hosting Australia women for the ICC Women's World Cup 2025, and the defending champions have won all of their group stage games except for the only games that were washed out by rain. They have been unbeatable in the World Cup and will now take on India.

However, in a shameful incident, the two Australian cricketers from the World Cup squad were stalked and molested by a motorcycle-borne man in Indore on Thursday. Though the accused was apprehended just within hours of the incident, the incident marked a black mark for India, which was left red-faced.

"Police escort to the café" - Australian player's wife takes a jibe at security preparations in India

Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner's wife, Monica Wright, on Monday took a jibe at the security arrangements in India. The cricketer's wife posted on her Instagram story showing the couple sitting inside a taxi and two police officials posing behind the couple's taxi.

The post was made on Instagram with the caption "Police escort to the café."

This happened after the two were destined to take a ride in a cab to some part of Mumbai, as they were taking a ride to a cafe. The couple posed for the camera; however, the caption was a funny jibe from the Australian about India's security of women.

Cricket Australia, too, had confirmed the alleged molestation of their women cricketers, and the two women had to be saved only by the intervention of the security officer, Danny Simmons, after the players shared a live location.

Indian batter ruled out of entire World Cup ahead of semi-final against Australia

Indian opener Pratika Rawal suffered a serious sprain to her ankle during the match against Bangladesh, which ruled her out of the entire World Cup, as the BCCI medical team found the ankle injury to be serious enough.

The opener smashed a hundred against New Zealand and scored the second most runs for India alongside the Indian fellow opener Smriti Mandhana. Mandhana will now have to bat alongside a new partner for the semi-final clash against Australia at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.

Australia to play without their skipper against India in the semi-final

Australia have remained undefeated in the World Cup so far, as they are the seven-time champions in the ICC Women's ODI World Cup. However, they would have to play with Georgia Voll at the top of their batting order after Alyssa Healy was snubbed owing to her injury.

In the absence of the skipper, Tahila McGrath continues to lead the Australian Women. They will be targeting their eighth World Cup title.
