Australia Test Squad for Pakistan 1st Test Announced, Inducts Uncapped Pacer Into Team

Australia has named their squad for the 1st Test against Pakistan. There are no surprises in the team as Australia has retained almost all the players from the Ashes 2023 series. There is only one new face in the squad.

Uncapped pacer Lance Morris has been given an opportunity for the opening game. He was also expected to be part of The Ashes 2023 but had to skip the series due to a back stress injury.

Lance Morris is a right-arm pacer. He gave a stunning show in the six games for his domestic team Western Australia during the Sheffield Shield. He has grabbed 11 wickets at an average of 25.54.

Notably, the series is going to be the farewell Test series for David Warner. The left-handed batsman has expressed his desire to retire after the Ashes 2023 series. Nathan Lyon, who was out of action after the 2nd Test of Ashes 2023 due to an elbow injury, has returned to the squad.

Pakistan’s tour of Australia 2023 will witness 3 Tests. The opening match commences on December 14 at Perth Stadium. Pakistan has already named their squad for the series. Pakistan’s new skipper Shan Masood is set to lead Pakistan in the series. Pakistan’s team has already reached Australia to start preparation for the tour.
