India allrounder Ravindra Jadeja is all set to return to the playing eleven for the upcoming Boxing Day against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The allrounder was sidelined with a hamstring injury that he had picked earlier this month while batting in the first T20I against the home side.

Consequently, he missed the remainder of the three-match T20I series as well as the first Test in Adelaide. But India are now going to be bolstered by the return of the allrounder. According to Cricbuzz, Ravindra Jadeja cleared his mandatory fitness test on Thursday (December 24) evening. He likely to bat at No 7 and also strengthen India’s bowling attack which was further depleted after pacer Mohammed Shami was ruled of the series with a fractured arm.

The report stated that Ravindra Jadeja was showing promising signs regarding his fitness since the beginning of the Adelaide Test. He’d gone from sprinting to batting in the nets to even having a bowl in the middle before the start of play on the final day of the match. And the Saurashtra star was the busiest member of the Indian contingent in Melbourne as he bowled long spells in addition to having multiple stints with the bat.

He was among the first batch of batsmen in the nets on Thursday. After his batting, he immediately took his batting gear off and bowled for over an hour. Ravindra Jadeja also trained with two of the physical conditioning coaches and practiced sprinting. According to the report, he ran back and forth for three virtual runs, all in the space of 8-9 seconds.
