Australia Women’s 2024-25 home season schedule announced; historic Test to be hosted by MCG

Cricket Australia (CA) has released the complete schedule for the Australia Women’s team for the 2024-25 home season. Australia Women will face New Zealand, India, and England at home during the 2023-24 season.

Australia Women’s campaign at home will commence with a T20I series against New Zealand in September. The Aussies will face the NZ Women in three T20I games at home during the series. Later, the Aussies will host India Women in a three-match ODI series. The ODI series will take place in December and the games will be hosted in Brisbane and Perth.

Their home campaign will conclude with the Women’s Ashes series vs England Women. Both sides will lock horns in three ODIs, three T20Is, and one-off Test during Women’s Ashes 2024-25. Below is Australia Women’s complete home schedule for the 2024-25 season at home.

Interestingly, Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia is set to host a historic day-night Women’s Ashes Test for the first time. Earlier, the stadium hosted a Test match between AUS W and ENG W in 1935. Hence, it will be a historical game at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Also, the stadium will host a Women’s Test after 1949. Also, the stadium will observe a Day-Night Women’s Test for the first time in history. Speaking about the Test match at MSG, Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry said it’s an amazing opportunity for the Australia women to play at such an iconic venue.

“It’s an amazing opportunity for the team to play at such an iconic Australian cricket venue and on such a big occasion like an Ashes series”. I think we all saw that fixture and thought what an amazing opportunity and how much possibility that also carries in terms of what it could do for the game,” Perry said.

Meanwhile, Australia Women are currently busy with an away tour against Bangladesh Women. The visitors Aussies have already won the three-match ODI series after winning the first two opening games. A three-match T20I series will follow the ODI series.
