Axar Patel becomes a nightmare for Mitchell Marsh, bat rammed

Axar Patel, on Saturday (October 25), clean bowled Australia captain Mitchell Marsh to give India a huge breakthrough in the ongoing third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
For the third time in a row in the series, Mitchell Marsh won the toss and opted to bat first. While Australia won the first two matches chasing, they decided to bat first in the last match of the series.
Head and Marsh start with a fire
The hosts were off to a good start with Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head adding 61 runs for the first wicket. The match also marked the first instance of an opening pair adding 50 runs or more for the first wicket in the ongoing series.
Mohammed Siraj gave India a much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Head in the 10th over. The Australian opener departed after scoring 29 runs off 25 balls with the help of six fours. During his 29-run knock, Head also completed 3000 runs in the 50-over format.

Axar Patel ends Mitchell Marsh's stay
After Head's departure, Marsh and Matt Short steadied the ship for the hosts. However, before they could bat Australia to a strong position, Axar Patel struck to give India a crucial wicket. The left-arm spinner dismissed a well-set Marsh in the 16th over to reduce Australia to 88/2.
It was the first ball after drinks, and Axar Patel did not waste much time in making an impact. On the very first ball of the 16th over, he clean bowled Marsh. The ball kept coming in with the angle, and Marsh wanted to play it through the cover.
However, he did not get the room for his shot and was completely beaten as the ball went on to hit the top of the off-stump. Marsh departed after scoring 41 runs off 50 balls.

Talking about the match, Australia were on 106/2 in the 19th over at the time of writing this report.
Short and Matt Renshaw were batting in the middle for the home side. Australia has already clinched the series and will be eyeing another win to complete a famous whitewash.
