After KL Rahul, another massive blow for the Delhi Capitals (DC) as their captain, Axar Patel, was also dismissed for a golden duck. The emerging pacer of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Prince Yadav, beat Patel all the way to disrupt the stumps. DC faced a major problem as a portion of their top-tier batter washed out as soon as the second innings began.
Axar Patel walked into the crease of the Ekana Stadium as Delhi lost some of their top batters like KL Rahul, Pathum Nissanka, and Nitish Rana.
Patel is well known for being capable of playing anchored innings, which the Delhi Capitals needed badly to prevent further wicket falls. Patel executed the role many times for Team India and DC as well in the past, but tonight, he was tricked by the emerging pacer.

Who is Prince Yadav?
Prince Yadav is an emerging fast bowler from Delhi, who took the lights during the 2024 season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL), where he played under the leadership of Rishabh Pant for the franchise Purani Delhi 6. In this T20 tournament, his bowling was impressive enough to get a call from the Delhi cricket team. In 10 matches for the franchise, he returned with 13 wickets.
Soon after the effective bowling spells in DPL, Yadav went to play for Delhi in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. For the Delhi state cricket team, the pacer made his T20 debut against Uttar Pradesh. He went on to take 11 wickets in his debut SMAT season while finishing with an economy rate of 7.54. He played a couple of Ranji Trophy games as well for the capital city of India.
The franchise keeps its trust in the emerging pacer despite an underwhelming IPL 2025 season
A day before the IPL 2025 mega auction, the right-arm quick took the wickets of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Sameer Rizvi. The following day, he headlines as the Lucknow Super Giants invested INR 30 Lakh to bring him on board.
In the IPL 2025 campaign, Prince Yadav played a total of 6 games for them, picking only 3 wickets for an economy rate of 9.85, which was not enough according to the standards of the Indian Premier League. Still, the franchise kept its faith in the pacer and retained him ahead of the IPL 2026 season.
The fans of LSG, and the team management as well will wish to see Prince Yadav in his true potential, as the team has been trying hard to fetch good results in the league.
