India allrounder Axar Patel recently spoke about the hilarious interview which involved him and fast bowler Mohammed Siraj. The interview was taken by former India cricketer Dinesh Karthik after India clinched the T20 World Cup 2024.
Both Axar and Siraj are not that good in the English language which is why the interview became rather funny. Axar also revealed that he did not know what he said while Siraj ran away from the interview midway.

While speaking on 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', Axar Patel shared a hilarious interview of him and Mohammed Siraj after India's T20 World Cup 2024 win. He revealed Siraj's words in which the fast bowler complained about why they were chosen for the interview despite so many good English speakers within the team.
"(Mohammed) Siraj told everyone, 'Arre DK bhai ne mera English mein interview le liya. Itne saare log hain, sabko English aati hain. Hum dono ko hi kyu pakda English ke liye, pata nahi' (Dinesh Karthik took our interview in English; all others know English, so why did he catch hold of us I don't know)," Axar said on the show.
Kapil Sharma then asked Axar Patel if he managed to have a smooth interview. The left-arm spinner hilariously answered that he did not know what he said while Siraj left the interview midway saying that all of his English words were finished.
"Haan diya na, mujhe hi nahi pata mai kya bola. Siraj to aadha interview chhod ke bhaag gaya, bola 'meri jitni English thi khatam ho gayi hain' (yes, we did; but even I don't know what I said; Siraj left the interview in between saying that his English vocabulary finished)," Axar responded.

Axar's answer left everyone in the room in splits. Along with Axar Patel, India's other T20 World Cup 2024 heroes Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Arshdeep Singh were also present in the show.
Axar Patel played all the matches of India's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign and played a key role in India's title win. He contributed with vital cameos with the bat and bowled the tough powerplay overs as well.

In the high-pressure final against South Africa, Axar Patel scored 47 off 31 balls, which included 1 four and 4 sixes. He came in to bat at No. 5, which is a higher position when India was under tremendous pressure at 34-3.
However, his partnership of 72 runs with Virat Kohli helped India get back on track and post a solid first-innings total of 176-7. In reply, South Africa could only score 169-6, and thus, fell short by 7 runs. It was a thrilling win and ended India's long wait for an ICC trophy.
Not just in the final, the 30-year-old allrounder also produced a brilliant performance with the ball in the semi-final against England. Axar returned figures of 3-23 in the game, which included the big wickets of Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, and Moeen Ali.
