Babar Azam Named Skipper Of Peshawar Zalmi For PSL 2023

Pakistan Super League (PSL) which is considered to be a riveting league after IPL has started making headlines. The upcoming edition of PSL is expected to be a fascinating one as PSL is set to introduce home and away venues for the tournament.

There have been 7 editions so far in which Islamabad United is the most successful team who have won the championship two times whereas Peshawar Zalmi has been the runners-up thrice and won the tournament way back in 2017.

Babar Azam New Skipper of Peshawar Zalmi

Babar Azam who was previously at Karachi Kings, now has shifted to Peshawar Zalmi. The dashing right-handed batter has been named the skipper for the 2023 edition. The batter was a part of the 2020 triumph for Karachi Kings where the team had won against all odds.

Babar Azam Great Asset

Babar Azam almost took Pakistan to their 2nd T20 World Cup in Australia. There’s no doubt that Babar has some fine leadership as he is someone who stands behind his bowler. Babar though would be hoping that he accelerates a bit in the T20s as his strike rate has been an issue. The batter needs to up the ante and makes sure that he rotates the strike consistently rather than playing a string of dot balls.

Peshawar Zalmi would be hoping that Babar Azam helps the team to cross the finish line as each season they are showing potential but failing in crunch situations of the match. It would be interesting to see how the season fares for Babar Azam & Peshawar Zalmi as Peshawar fans would be hoping for a 2nd title.
