Bangladesh batter Najmul Hossain Shanto is having a dream run in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The southpaw has played a magnificent innings against Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. 

Najmul Hossain Shanto, who made rollicking 89 runs against Sri Lanka, followed it up with a sensational century in the ongoing game against Afghanistan. He came to bat when Bangladesh lost two back-to-back wickets and were tumbling at 63/2. 

Najmul Hossain Shanto continued his golden touch and batted superbly in the ongoing game. He led the rescue charge for his team but once he was set he changed the complexion of the game along with Mehidy Hasan Miraz (112). The duo stitched 215 runs together and took the game away from the opposition.

Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 104 runs off 105 balls and also smashed 9 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. He put his team into the dominating position and was eager to score more but unfortunately was run out as he slipped in the middle. 

While his century was lauded by many, Najmul Hossain Shanto’s celebration was the talk of the town. He did the famous ‘Baby’ celebration. He recently became a father as he and his wife welcomed their first baby child on 25th August.

BAN vs AFG: Mehidy Hasan Miraz supports  Najmul Hossain Shanto as he also registers century 

Apart from Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mehidy Hasan Miraz has also been the shining light for Bangladesh in the ongoing game. The right-hander was promoted up the order by the Bangladesh team management and he repaid their faith by smashing a rollicking century in a must-win game. 

Mehidy Hasan Miraz brought up his century in 115 balls and ended with the knock of 112 runs as he got retired hurt. He smashed 7 fours and 3 sixes in his innings This is only the second time he has opened in the ODI match and this was also his second century in this format.
