Bangladesh Cricket Team is all set to play 3-match ODI series against England commencing from 1st March. Skipper Tamim Iqbal would be making a return to the International setup after Zimbabwe ODI Series 2022. Tamim Iqbal’s experience would be invaluable as he is someone who can bat deep & play a significant knock for the team.

ODI Series is part of World Super League points but both the teams have already qualified for ODI WC 2023. England would be aiming to get back to winning ways after losing the South Africa ODI Series by 1-2. The visitors would be tested as Bangladesh has got a brilliant bowling lineup where they recently thumped India.

Tamim Iqbal on Dressing Room conflicts

Tamim Iqbal was having an interaction with the media ahead of the 1st ODI against England and was asked whether there are any rifts in camp.

“I have been playing international cricket for the last 17 years. Whenever the team does well, this term is used, this group, that group. The ones who know me, I am a straightforward person. There is nothing to hide. I will speak straight, whether you like it or not, it’s your call. I haven’t seen grouping 16 years ago, I haven’t seen it 10 years ago and it doesn’t exist even now,” said Tamim Iqbal.


“I wasn’t there with the team for six months and if something developed during this phase, then I don’t know. But going by what I have seen over the last three to four days, I haven’t seen anything. Everyone is enjoying it. It’s unfortunate that such talks come up whenever the team does well.” he added.

Great Chance for England

England was the last team who defeated Bangladesh in Bangladesh in ODI format that too way back in 2015 when England won the series by 2-1. England needs to use Moeen Ali at the top of the order as he is someone who can provide stability to the team against spinners in the middle overs.

It would be interesting to see how the Bangladeshi Tigers fare under the newly appointed Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha. Bangladeshi fans would be hoping that the inclusion of Hathurusingha takes the team to the next level. Hathurusingha has indicated that players need to perform to be part of the team and took a jibe at senior players.
