BAN vs SA: Bangladesh all set to host South Africa for Test series despite political turmoil

Bangladesh National Cricket Team are all set to host South Africa National Cricket Team in a two-match Test series in October despite political turmoil in the country. As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the Bangladesh Cricket Board is hopeful of playing the two games.
The reports claimed that the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side will be hosting the South Africa National Cricket Team in two games in Dhaka and Chattogram, respectively. The BCB is hopeful that the two-match Test series against the Proteas will be played as per the schedule.
Due to the anti-government protests, there have been a lot of speculations about whether the Test series between Bangla Tigers and South Africa take place. Recently, the T20 World Cup 2024, which was slated to take place in the country, was moved out of the country.
While there have been no concerns by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Cricket South Africa (CSA) is expected to sit with the South African Cricketers Association (SACA) before making a final decision regarding their forthcoming tour. They are likely to discuss security issues, and if any of them arise, they are unlikely to travel.
However, the reports in Cricbuzz stated that there are no security concerns regarding the tour. Also, it is learned that South Africa's government has not issued a travel advisory against visiting the Asian country, and there is a high chance that the series will happen as per the schedule.
The reports also called that the BCB have also prepared the draft schedule for the series. As per the schedule, it is learned that the South Africa National Cricket Team will be arriving in the Asian country on 16th October for the two-match series.

Speaking about the Test series against South Africa, an official from the Cricket Board said: "We are hopeful that the tour will commence as per schedule and we will officially announce it in the coming days," he told Cricbuzz.
As per the schedule, the Test series between South Africa and Bangladesh will begin at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on October 21. The second match of the series is scheduled to be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from October 29. After that, the Proteas will leave on November 3.
Bangladesh recently won the Test series against the Pakistan National Cricket. The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led scripted history as they whitewashed the Shan Masood-led side by 2-0 and won their first-ever series in Pakistan.
Bangladesh are currently 4th on the table of the ICC World Test Championship. They will next be seen in action when they will take on India National Cricket Team in the two-match Test series. The series between the teams will get underway on 19th September at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. They would be high on confidence and would want to script history in India.
