Delhi is all set to host the BAN vs SL ICC World Cup 2023 match on Monday, November 6. The match starts at 2 pm with Sri Lanka needing a win to stay alive in the tournament. Bangladesh, meanwhile is already out of the tournament.

Meanwhile, both teams have objected to playing in Delhi due to the rising levels of air pollution. With winter setting in in Delhi, acute smog is one of the reasons why the two teams are unwilling to play at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Previously Sri Lanka also objected to playing a Test match against India due to smog in Delhi a few years ago.

Bangladesh previously canceled its training session due to rising levels of smog in the city. Sri Lanka have also objected to playing in Delhi due to the pollution level. The BCCI and ICC however said that the match will go on as per schedule and there are no talks of a change in venue as yet. There are talks of the match being shifted to Lucknow but nothing is official as yet.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh recently played in the Asia Cup 2023. The Lankans defeated the Tigers in the league stage and the Super 4. Overall, the two teams have played 53 ODIS with Sri Lanka winning 43 and Bangladesh nine games.

Heading into the BAN vs SL game, Sri Lanka lost their last match against India. They were bowled out for just 55 chasing 358 to win registerting the lowest total of this World Cup so far. Nad form of players coupled with injuries to key players have plagued the Lankans so far in the tournament.

Bangladesh on the other hand, are on a six-match losing streak since their win against Afghanistan. The poor form of their bowlers coupled with constant changes in the batting lineup have added to the misery of the Tigers. Shakib Al Hasan as a skipper and as an all-rounder has been below par with the other senior players not standing up as well.

The BAN vs SL match starts at 2 pm IST. This is the final World Cup match in Delhi and it is under the cloud due to smog. Both teams have not shown any interest in playing the game at this venue.

Speaking about the weather conditions, their air quality level is dangerous as per Accuweather. The current Air Quality Index (AQI) is 350 and any exposure to outside bad-quality air is not advised by experts. Earlier this week, the AQI level touched close to 500 in some areas of Delhi.

Talking about Monday’s weather in the afternoon, the temperature will be around 30 degrees with hazy sunshine. By the evening it will drop to 21 degrees and the weather will remain hazy along with plenty of fog around. There is no chance of rain though.
