Pakistan National Cricket Team are all set to host the Bangladesh National Cricket Team for the two-match Test series later this month. But the series between the teams has come under a scanner due to the recent developments in Bangladesh.

The Test series between the Pakistan National Cricket Team and the Bangla Tigers will begin on the 21st of August in Rawalpindi, followed by the second match to be played in Karachi from the 30th of August. Both games will be part of the ICC Test Championship, which will be crucial for both teams.

Ahead of the main series, the Bangladesh A team was also scheduled to travel to Pakistan for two four-day and three 50-over matches. They were all set to travel to Pakistan on Wednesday (7th August), but their departure was delayed due to the ongoing circumstances in Bangladesh.

The current situation in Bangladesh has been very concerning. Riots are going on in the country, and it has also seen a lot of people getting killed as well. Prime Minister of the country, Sheikh Hasina, also resigned and has flown away from the country, depicting the conditions in the country.

This has also created speculations about the Bangla Tigers' travel to Pakistan. The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side is scheduled to travel on 17th August. But with the conditions turning worse in their country, there is no clarity that they will be traveling to Pakistan on the scheduled date.

A tour of Bangladesh postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, confirms PCB

The tour of Bangladesh A to Pakistan has also been postponed. The Pakistan Cricket Board released an official statement, confirming that the departure of the opposition's A team was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances in their country.

The Pakistan Cricket Board also confirmed that they are in conversation with the BCB, and both parties will be working together to make the new itinerary for the tour. Releasing an official statement on Twitter, they stated:

"The BCB has confirmed to the PCB their men's "A" cricket team's departure for Islamabad has been delayed by 48 hours due to unforeseen circumstances. The BCB and PCB have been in regular contact for the past two days and will continue to work together on the revised tour itinerary with further details to follow in due course. The Bangladesh "A" cricket team was due to arrive in Islamabad in the wee hours of Wednesday for two four-day and three 50-over matches from 10-27 August."

Both Pakistan and Bangladesh are yet to name their squads for the series. The core group of the Bangladesh team was recently seen putting in the hard yards to get themselves in the groove ahead of the series. They have been training hard as they would be keen to bag important ICC World Test Championship points.
