Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has backed his support to Mohammad Rizwan ahead of his first campaign as skipper. Basit Ali said that Mohammad Rizwan will unite every player as a captain.
Notably, Rizwam has been named the new skipper of the Pakistan National Team for ODIs and T20Is. Recently, Babar Azam resigned as white-ball skipper after the team's poor show in recent times.
Rizwan will lead the team in the Pakistan tour of Australia 2024, where the Men-in-Green will face the Aussies in three ODIs and three T20Is starting November 4. Salman Ali Agha is the new vice-captain of the side.
Mohammad Rizwan will unite everybody- Basit Ali
Basit Ali supports Mohammad Rizwan as the new skipper and feels that he will turn out to be a powerful skipper. While speaking on his YouTube channel, Basit Ali said Rizwan will unite everybody in the team.
"Mohammad Rizwan teer nahi, atom bomb marega.(Mohammad Rizwan won't shoot an arrow, he will throw an atom bomb). Rizwan will unite everybody. He has those qualities in him. You will see such developments in the coming days," Ali said.
Notably, Babar Azam also quit the captaincy after the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in November last year after Pakistan's poor show in the tournament. However, after new skipper Shaheen Afridi completely failed with his leadership skills in the New Zealand T20I series with a 4-0 defeat, Azam was reinstated as white-ball skipper.

However, Azam has been recalled for the ODI and T20I series against Australia under the new skipper. Afridi and Shah have been also recalled for the crucial series against Australia. Interestingly, Rizwan has played many games under skipper Babar Azam during the past few years.
