Asia Cup 2025 Final set for epic thriller between India and Pakistan
Meanwhile, the Asia Cup 2025 final will be only the third time India and Pakistan will meet in a final of an ICC or major international tournament, following the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2017 Champions Trophy. Both encounters delivered unforgettable cricketing moments.
India had won the 2007 T20 World Cup final, while Pakistan lifted the 2017 Champions Trophy. Looking at the history of tournaments featuring more than five teams, India and Pakistan have faced off in finals five times. India won twice, while Pakistan emerged victorious on three occasions.
India had won the 1985 Benson & Hedges World Championship and the 2007 T20 World Cup, while Pakistan lifted the 1986 and 1994 Austral-Asia Cups and the 2017 Champions Trophy. This gives Pakistan a slight edge in head-to-head final encounters.

India vs Pakistan T20 rivalry
Speaking about the T20 international cricket, the Men in Blue and Men in Green have clashed 15 times so far in the format. The Indian team dominated with 11 wins, while Pakistan managed to take victory on three occasions. One match ended without a result.
Even India has dominated Pakistan in ICC T20 World Cups, holding a commanding 6-1 edge. Pakistan’s lone victory came in the 2021 edition of the tournament in Dubai.
Notably, the very first India-Pakistan T20 World Cup clash is still hailed as one of the most thrilling matches in cricket history. It remains the only bowl-out in international cricket history since there was no Super Over in the game of cricket.
