BCCI All Set To Allow 5 Overseas Players In The Inaugural Women's IPL

The Women’s IPL 2023 is expected to be the next big thing in the Women’s Cricket. Many experts and cricketers believe that WIPL 2023 can surpass the Women’s BBL. The Women in Blue are making huge strides but are not able to win ICC tournaments which ruin all their hard work
Many IPL franchises have shown interest in buying the teams which can make the league a riveting one. Manchester United has also shown interest in buying the team. The league is expected to start on 3rd March and end on 26th of March where BCCI is yet to announce the official dates.

BCCI’ Bold Decision
BCCI has allowed a team to field 5 overseas players in the playing 11 where 1 overseas player needs to be from Associate nation. The Women’s IPL 2023 would become an International league due to this rule by the BCCI which will take the Women’s Cricket to the next level.

BCCI Announces Salary Purse
BCCI has revealed the salary cap for teams where every team will have 12 Crores. The salary would increment to 1.5 Crore per year till 2027. BCCI would be hoping that the Women in Blue get accustomed to tough scenarios with this league in which the players lagging behind.
Women in Blue needs to find reliant finishers as every-time the top order won’t be able to win the matches for the team. Recently India lost against Australia by 4-1 where they showed potential but didn’t had the fire power at the back end of the innings which hurt the team. It would be interesting to see how a billion people respond to this inaugural league at that time Border Gavaskar Trophy would be going on.
