BCCI is all set to hold Apex Council Meeting on Wednesday (21st December). This meeting is considered to discuss the new selection panel and the contracts of the players. Earlier President Roger Binny made it very clear that BCCI needs to manage the workload of players and raised the issue of players getting injured frequently.

According to some sources, there may be a change in coaching staff due to the debacle of the T20 World Cup 2022. Indian Cricket Team has been failing in ICC tournaments as India hasn’t won an ICC tournament since 2013. Champions Trophy.

Important Phase for Indian Cricket

BCCI will have to be careful in naming the next selection panel as last time the selectors named a lot of skippers which somewhat disturbed the dynamics of the team. BCCI would be well aware of the WTC 2021-23 as the last time they failed at the last junction. It would be interesting to see how India performs in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 as Australia is going to play in India after 2017.

Split Coaching on Agenda

There are chances that India may use split coaching just the way England Cricket Team does. With so many ICC events scheduled in the next 2 years, the BCCI needs to make sure that players are getting ample rest between bilateral Cricket & IPL.

BCCI would be keen to emphasize Test Cricket as the craze of IPL is getting bigger day by day.  Roger Binny who was a part of the 2012-2015 selection panel has a strenuous task on it’s hands. BCCI is all set to launch Women’s IPL in March 2023 which is expected to be the next big thing in Women’s Cricket, the board is yet to finalize the teams and that could be also on the agenda.
