Ahead of the upcoming tour of England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] has sought the coordinates and home addresses of all the UK-bound Team India players and their family members so that it can conduct RT-PCR tests at their doorsteps.

The BCCI will send a medical team to the house of each and every member of the squad irrespective of their location in the country.

The tests are set to take place in the next couple of days.

Meanwhile, as the board awaits the health advisory from the UK government via the ICC- the organizers of the World Test Championship final- it has decided to enforce a two-week hard quarantine for the squad- which according to CricBuzz is scheduled to start from May 18- before they fly to England in the first week of June.

The quarantine will take place in Mumbai where the local players could be exempted for a week on the condition that they wouldn’t move out of their respective homes.

During the quarantine, as many as three RT-PCR and multiple regular tests will be done on the squad members as well as their respective family members.

The BCCI has been briefed that about 90 percent of the squad has had its first dose of vaccine. The vaccine that has been preferred for the players has been Covishield- an AstraZeneca dose- and the board is hoping that the pharmaceutical product will be available in the UK for the second jab.

However, according to CricBuzz, the BCCI will try to organize and vaccine dose for the players during their 3.5 month-long stay in England.
