Australia star Josh Hazlewood has made himself available for all the five Tests of the upcoming Ashes. His comments came after his impressive bowling display in the first ODI against India in Perth on Sunday (October 19).

The right-arm pacer gave the hosts a solid start by dismissing Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer cheaply, leaving India reeling at 45/4. He conceded only 20 runs in his 7 overs as Australia thrashed India by 7 wickets to take the lead in the three-match series.

Hazlewood missed a number of Tests in every home season

Speaking after his brilliant display, Josh Hazlewood said that he wants the same lively Perth pitch rolled out for the start of the Ashes. With captain Pat Cummins set to miss at least the first Test of the series, Australia's fate will depend a lot on whether Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc can stay fit alongside Scott Boland.

Since 2021, the fast-bowler has missed a number of Tests in every home season except one - when he featured in all the home Tests against Pakistan and West Indies in 2023-24.

Perth always offers some nice bounce and pace - Josh Hazlewood

"For sure," said Hazlewood said when asked if he wanted a similar pitch for the first Ashes Test. "Perth always offers some nice bounce and pace which has served us well in the past, especially with our bowlers who all offer something different.

"It was a nice start. [My] rhythm felt good off the back of New Zealand. Everything is feeling good at the moment, a nice way to start the build [to the Ashes]," he added.

Josh Hazlewood eyes full Ashes:

Speaking further, Josh Hazlewood said that his 'body feels great right now' as he expressed his desire to play in all the five Tests against England. With rain interrupting the first ODI on a number of occasions, Hazlewood also said that it had been something of a relief to get through without any injury setbacks.

"My body feels great right now, I am very confident of getting through all five without any dramas," said the Aussie star.

"Those games are always niggly for the quicks. Its a balance of trying to stay warm and in the moment, especially when the breaks are short like that."

With Australia eyeing a series-clinching win, Hazlewood would be eager to deliver with the ball in the second ODI as well. The penultimate match of the series is scheduled to take place on Thursday in Adelaide.
