England all-rounder Ben Stokes is all set to make a comeback to cricket after recovering from his finger injury that he picked up during IPL 2021. The injury ruled him out of the first phase of IPL 2021. He was also left out of England’s test squad for the series against New Zealand. The English all-rounder has joined the Durham squad ahead of their T20 Blast match against the Birmingham Bears.

Ben Stokes resumed training with the county club ahead of their game against Birmingham in the Vitality T20 Blast 2021 on Sunday. Durham’s official Twitter handle shared a picture of him practicing at a net session.

Meanwhile, the ECB has counted out the possibility of the participation of English players when the IPL 2021 resumes in September in the UAE.

Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders would miss their international superstars. The ECB has stressed on the availability of their players for international commitments even if that meant missing the cash-rich league.

England who lost a Test series at home against New Zealand will host Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series. The T20I series will be played between June 23-26 while the ODI series will run from June 29- July 4.
