After failing to progress ahead of the league stage in IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be eyeing a better performance in IPL 2025. The Chennai-based outfit will be looking to create history by becoming the first-ever team to win the IPL six times.
They missed out on a playoff spot in the last season only due to the net run rate. For the upcoming season, the five-time champions have assembled a strong squad.
They have bought the likes of Devon Conway, Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, Rachin Ravindra, and others for IPL 2025. With Chennai Super Kings eyeing a historic sixth IPL title, we are taking a look at the probable CSK Playing 11 for IPL 2025.

CSK Playing 11 for IPL 2025:
Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway
Chennai Super Kings will have the familiar opening combination of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway for IPL 2025. They were the openers for Chennai Super Kings in 2023, helping the franchise win the IPL that season.
Conway missed the 2024 season due to a finger injury and will be looking to make amends in IPL 2025. Gaikwad, on the other hand, will be eyeing to lead his team from the front once again. In IPL 2024, he scored 583 runs in 14 games. Gaikwad can also become the second player to lead Chennai Super Kings to an IPL title after the legendary MS Dhoni.
Middle-order batsmen and allrounders: Rachin Ravindra, Deepak Hooda/Rahul Tripathi, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran
Rachin Ravindra will be playing for Chennai Super Kings once again and will be looking to make a bigger impact in IPL 2025. In IPL 2024, he had scored 222 runs in 10 games. One between Deepak Hooda and Rahul Tripathi is also likely to play in the middle-order. Both Tripathi and Hooda will have the chance to make a big impact with the bat next season.
CSK will be relying heavily on Shivam Dube once again. The T20 World Cup winner enjoyed another prolific campaign with the bat last season, scoring 396 runs with the help of two fifties. The other names in the middle order are set to be MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Sam Curran.
The upcoming season could very well be Dhoni's last as a player and he will be looking to bow out on a high. On the other hand, the likes of Jadeja and Curran will be keen to live up to the expectations as allrounders.
Bowlers: Ravichandran Ashwin, Khaleel Ahmed, Nathan Ellis
Ravichandran Ashwin is set to lead CSK's spin attack on his return to the franchise after a decade with Ravindra Jadeja being the other option.
Ashwin last played for CSK way back in 2015 and will be desperate to hit the ground running in IPL 2025. The pace department will have the likes of Nathan Ellis, Khaleel Ahmed as well as Curran.
