Indian captain Virat Kohli has showered praise on speedster Bhuvneshwar Kumar and said the experience he brings with him has been priceless for the team.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the vital members of the India National Cricket Team heading into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Also Bhuvneshwar is one of the four frontline pacers India has added to the 15-member World Cup squad. Other pacers India have in the team are Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and recently announced the replacement of Axar Patel in the 15-member squad Shardul Thakur.

Virat Kohli during a Captain’s Call organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) ahead of the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup talked about Bhuvneshwar Kumar and said:

His economy rate continued to be top-notch in the IPL, he has always been known for this, and his experience comes to the fore. I think his experience and accuracy have always been priceless for the team.

Further Kohli gave an update on Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s fitness and said he has become fully fit to compete. Kohli stated:

He is back to full fitness which augers really well for our team. I am sure he will get assistance with the new ball.”

Bhuvneshwar Kumar didn’t have a good run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He played 11 games and was able to pick 6 wickets at an average of 55.83 economy of 7.97 and a strike rate of 42.00. However, India will be expecting that he returns to his prime form ahead of the mega event.

Meanwhile, India National Cricket Team is placed in the Group 2 of the tournament alongside the Pakistan National Cricket Team, Afghanistan National Cricket Team and New Zealand National Cricket Team.

India will commence their T20 World Cup 2021 journey with a battle against arch-rivals Pakistan National Cricket Team on October 24 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
