Former New Zealand captain and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Head Coach Stephen Fleming has joined the New Zealand camp ahead of the T20 World Cup 2021 to help Kane Williamson-led side in preparation for the World Cup, which is all set to begin from 17 October in UAE.

Under Stephen Fleming, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) successfully won their 4th Indian Premier League (IPL) championship by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 by 27 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 15.

Also, during the victory, Stephen Fleming, who joined CSK as a coach back in 2009, became the most successful Indian Premier League (IPL) coach of all time with 4 IPL titles in his bag. Notably, he overtook the tally of Mahela Jayawardene, who has won 3 IPL championships as a coach.

The former Blackcaps captain was seen donning New Zealand’s training kit on Saturday morning and was seen interacting with the New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson. The official social media handle of Blackcaps wrote:

“Fresh from the @IPL Final – it’s great to have @ChennaiIPL winning coach @SPFleming7 joining us for a few days ahead of the start of the @T20WorldCup #T20WorldCup,” the statement read.

Stephen Fleming will help New Zealand National Cricket Team a lot in preparation after working alongside India’s T20 World Cup mentor MS Dhoni across all the World Cup playing venues in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Meanwhile, New Zealand is placed in Group B of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 alongside Pakistan, India, Afghanistan. They will be joined by and two other qualifying nations in the Super 12 stage.

Kane Williamson and co. will be eying on their second World Title of 2021, having already won the World Test Championship (WTC) earlier this year. New Zealand National Cricket Team will begin their journey in T20 World Cup 2021 with a battle against the Pakistan National Cricket Team on October 26.
