Former England captain Michael Vaughan signalled warning signs to other countries after reports emerged that Rahul Dravid was all but guaranteed to become Team India’s next head coach.

Dravid has always been the favourite for the BCCI, and if satisfactory terms are agreed to, he might become the next coach. Current head coach, Ravi Shastri‘s tenure ends after the conclusion of the upcoming T20 World Cup.

It has been confirmed that his contract won’t be extended. The BCCI has begun the process of finding the new coach, and reports in the Times of India stated that Dravid was the frontrunner.

Speaking about the matter, Michael Vaughan warned the other teams to be wary of the threat Team India could become under Dravid. “If it’s true Rahul Dravid is to be the next Indian coach I think the rest of the world better beware … !” he said.

Rahul Dravid likely to become head coach with Paras Mhambrey As Bowling Coach

The legendary Indian batsman Rahul Dravid could soon be seen as the head coach of Team India for a duration of two years. His contract, if agreed to, will last till 2023. If Dravid decides to accept the job, he will draw a salary of around INR 10 crores. He will take his trusted assistant, Paras Mhambrey as the bowling coach while Vikram Rathore will remain the batting coach.

He will have to resign as the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) if he wants to take the prestigious job. Dravid has already coached Team India during their tour of Sri Lanka earlier this year. However, that was a second-string side that travelled to Lanka while the main squad was preparing for the 5-match Test series against England.
