Rohan Desai is going to be the new joint-secretary - Source close to BCCI

The post of the BCCI's joint secretary became vacant after Devajit Saika was elevated as the secretary following Jay Shah's appointment as the ICC Chairman. The source close to CricBlogger confirmed the development, saying: “Rohan Desai is going to be the new joint-secretary."

The development to appoint Rohan Desai signals that BCCI is now looking to give good recognition to lesser-known state associations by appointing their representatives to key posts. Earlier, Assam's Saika became secretary, while Chhattisgarh's Prabhtej Singh Bhatia became treasurer.

Apart from Roger Binny (Karnataka) and vice-president Rajeev Shukla (Uttar Pradesh), this is for the first time that top office bearers are appointed from the lesser-known cricketing states. The reports also claimed that BCCI will be making the official statement related to Rohan Desai's appointment in the coming days.
