Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has landed in serious trouble, and it is again Indian Premier League (IPL) versus Pakistan Super League (PSL). Blessing Muzarabani is all set for the legal battle with the Mohsin Naqvi-headed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The pacer was set to play in the upcoming PSL 2026, but after getting the lucrative deal in the IPL, he decided to play in the Indian league at the last moment, which left Pakistan cricket authorities angry.

This decision has not gone down well with the PCB, which is now preparing to take the matter to court over a contract breach linked to the PSL. The 29-year-old fast bowler was earlier signed by the Islamabad United for PSL 2026 as a replacement for Shamar Joseph.

The three-time champions have invested around Rs 11 million to bring Muzarabani into the squad for the upcoming Pakistan Super League season, which is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3.

However, the Zimbabwe bowler changed plans and joined Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the upcoming IPL 2026. Muzarabani came in as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman after the left-arm seamer was released by the KKR on the BCCI's order due to India-Bangladesh issues.

Muzarabani's last-minute call angers PCB

The sudden call has created major tension because the IPL and PSL will be played at the same time this year. According to Geo Super, the PCB believes that Blessing Muzarabani ignored his agreement with the PSL franchise, so they are now ready to move legally against the pacer.

Interestingly, this incident is not the first time such a situation has happened. Last season, Corbin Bosch had also left his PSL deal with Peshawar Zalmi and joined the Mumbai Indians as an injury replacement. And later the PCB banned the cricketer from the PSL for one season.

Blessing Muzarabani arrives in IPL with strong form

Well, Blessing Muzarabani is joining the KKR with huge momentum after a brilliant run in the recent ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He was the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

The Zimbabwe speedster played a key role in helping his team reach the Super Eight stage and finished the tournament with 13 wickets in six matches. One of his biggest highlights was a fiery four-wicket spell against Australia that left everyone stunned.

The tall fast bowler has taken more than 90 wickets in over 80 T20 international matches for Zimbabwe. His bowling average is close to 21, which shows how effective he has been in the shortest format. One of his best spells in the format is 3 wickets for just 8 runs.

Muzarabani is expected to reach Kolkata on Tuesday, March 17, to join the KKR squad. The three-time IPL champions will start their IPL 2026 campaign on March 29 against the Mumbai Indians at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The pacer is the only player from Zimbabwe playing in this season. Last year, he was part of the Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) squad, but he did not get a chance to play a match.
