Team India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the first three T20Is in the series against Australia, scheduled to begin at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Wednesday, October 29. Notably, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a medical update ahead of the series opener.
The Indian all-rounder suffered an injury during the second ODI against Australia in Adelaide. He was expected to be available for selection for the series opener. However, he failed to recover in time for the match, and the Suryakumar Yadav-led team is already without key all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

Nitish Kumar Reddy Has Represented India in Four T20Is So Far
Nitish Kumar Reddy has represented India in four T20Is so far. He has scored 90 runs in three innings with a highest score of 74 against Bangladesh in 2024. The all-rounder has also picked up three wickets.
The 22-year-old has been a consistent performer for SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he has scored 485 runs in 22 innings at an impressive strike rate of 132.87, including two half-centuries. He has secured five wickets across 12 innings for the franchise.
The young all-rounder would be deeply disappointed to miss three out of the five T20Is against Australia. Earlier this month, Reddy made his ODI debut against Australia in Perth. However, he scored only 27 runs in two innings and failed to pick up a wicket in the 5.1 overs he bowled.
India Asked to Bat First In T20I Series Opener in Canberra
India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, were asked to bat first in the T20I series opener against Australia at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. They fielded a spin-heavy lineup featuring Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Axar Patel.
All-rounder Shivam Dube was included to support frontline seamers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshit Rana. Arshdeep Singh, India’s leading T20I wicket-taker, once again missed out on selection.
The left-arm pacer, who featured in only two Asia Cup games, was replaced by Rana, who impressed with a four-wicket haul in the final ODI against Australia.
After their recent T20 Asia Cup triumph, the Men in Blue are now aiming to continue their dominance in the T20I series.
