Pakistan pace bowler Haris Rauf revealed that Indian player Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul told him that he’s capable of bowling at the highest level after he bowled to the Indian team in the nets in Sydney back in 2018-19.

Rauf was playing for a local cricket club, Wests Ashfield Leagues Club in Sydney, and had met a few of the Indian players. He has come a long way since making his debut and even bowled for Pakistan in their T20 World Cup clash against India.

Hardik Pandya Is Smart Enough to Know What Is Expected Of Him - KL Rahul

When I was a net bowler for India, I had bowled to them in Sydney in the nets. So I had told them once that I would one day bowl to them in an international game. And both Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul had told me that I have the potential to bowl at international level. They gave me a lot of confidence,” Rauf told paktv.tv.

Rauf added that the Indian duo was quite happy for him and the amount of progress he has made in his career. Rauf is a sureshot starter in Pakistan’s playing XI for the white-ball formats.

“Then when I met them recently at the T20 World Cup, they remembered all our conversations. We had a discussion over it as well and they were really happy for me watching me play for Pakistan. When you play with good players you learn all the good things. I always try to learn good things from such players,” he added.

Since his debut, Rauf has played 34 T20Is and has taken 41 wickets in total, with a best of 4/22 coming against New Zealand in the World Cup.
