‘Brave And Fearless Player’- Pat Cummins Applauds Rishabh Pant For His Recent Performances In International Cricket

Pat Cummins has applauded Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant for his fearless style of play. The Australian pacer Cummins played against Rishabh Pant during Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. Rishabh Pant was part of the Indian squad that won defeated Australia 2-1 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 and achieved a historic win on Australian soil.

Pant has earned a lot of fan following after his performance in the last few months. After his good performance against Australia, the wicket-keeper batsman was also part of England’s Tour of India. Pant’s century (101) in the 4th Test against England emerged as very crucial for India to claim victory in that match. It looks like Pat Cummins has been impressed by Rishabh Pant’s recent good form in international cricket.

Pat Cummins Calls Rishabh Pant Fearless

While speaking to show ‘Morton Someday’, the World no.1 Test bowler Cummins called Pant a fearless player who has played bravely in the last three series. “As a fan, you always tend to enjoy someone who is playing a completely different game than everybody else. They are fearless, you look at them and feel geez wish I could do that as well, geez he was Brave. So, I think in three recent series it was Rishabh Pant,” Pat Cummins said.

Pat Cummins played alongside Pant in IPL 2017 as both the players were part of the same team Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). Cummins also mentioned that 50 other cricketers would not take the game on as Pant does. “You just got to say well done when someone plays like that, takes the game on and it comes off. You’ve probably got 50 other players who probably wouldn’t have taken the game on like that. He’s always good to watch,” Cummins further said during the show.

Pant Has Had A Spectacular Season

After successful Test series against Australia, Rishabh Pant again came to the limelight during India’s tour of England. After a century in the 4th Test against England, he smashed a 77-run knock and 78-run-knock in the 2nd and 3rd ODI respectively. India defeated England in Test series 3-1, T20I series 3-2, and ODI series 2-1, and Pant played an important role as a wicket-keeper as well as a batsman against England.

Pat Cummins is part of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021 while Pant will lead Delhi Capitals. After Shreyas Iyer suffered an injury and was ruled out of IPL 2021, the franchisee selected Rishabh Pant as the new skipper for the team in IPL 2021.
