The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is all set to bring back the veteran wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha. Saha earlier had a public fallout against a CAB officer. The CAB Officer made some interesting comments on Saha by stating that the batter doesn’t have any responsibilities towards the team.
Newly-appointed CAB President Snehasish Ganguly raised this point in the 91st AGM of CAB. Surprisingly, Snehashish Ganguly became the President of CAB as earlier it was expected that former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will take up that position.
Snehasish Ganguly on Wriddhiman Saha
Snehasish Ganguly was quite aware of the new role and made some interesting comments on Wriddhiman Saha, “Being the president of this association is a great honour and responsibility at the same time. It is an emotional day for me also. CAB had a giant role to play behind whatever achievement I have had in cricket. So, I am nostalgic today. We will request Wriddhiman and Sudip to make a comeback at Bengal Cricket. Apart from these we have many agendas.”
Wriddhiman Saha an Asset
The veteran cricketer may not be a part of the Indian Cricket Team set up but he is immensely experienced. He has played over 122 List-A matches in his career and has scored more than 6,000 runs. The batter has been a vital cog for Bengal having made his debut in 2006-07.
CAB would be hoping that he can guide the batters in tough situations. Recently in IPL 2022, he had shown that he can provide lusty blows at the top. It would be interesting to see whether the batter makes a return as he doesn’t have age on his side.
