Former West Indies cricketer Carlos Braithwaite opened up about the hilarious story from one of his games in cricket. He revealed how one bowler gave him the 'remember the name' send-off but he later forgot the name of the bowler that got him out.
Carlos Braithwaite has been one of the finest players to have played for the West Indies National Cricket Team. The all-rounder was the main reason behind the team winning the T20 World Cup 2016 in India as they defeated England in the final to win the second title.
Carlos Braithwaite pulled off the victory for the team from the jaws of defeat for West Indies. The all-rounder hit four sixes to England all-rounder Ben Stokes in the last over and then took his team home. What was even more impressive was Ian Bishop's commentary after he took his team home.
Ian Bishop screamed "Carlos Brathwaite! Carlos Brathwaite, remember the name!" As he hit the final six at the Eden Gardens to take his team home. Since then the West Indies all-rounder has been famous for that commentary and has enjoyed a huge fan following.
But Carlos Braithwaite got a send-off related to this as well. During one of the league games in England, a lanky left-arm pacer Josh removed him and told him to remember his name. It was a fifty-over game taking place between Gloucester and Brathwaite's team.
Carlos Brathwaite while talking about that incident revealed that he got bowled by Josh and then the pacer played a cameo and he also gave a send-off to him. Speaking on a podcast to Michael Vaughan, he explained:
"Yeah, I get bowled on, but I can't remember josh something. Lefty was at Gloucester. Pacer. He had it hoping, 30th over. Between bat and pad. Oh! Ends it. Threw it up there at the fifth stump. Gate opens. That's a good pass-through. Straight through. And then he had a little cameo. I think he got 30-odd. And he gave me a big send-off."
'He gave me a big send off. He said, 'Remember his name''
'I actually now don't!'

He said, remember his name - Carlos Braithwaite on the send-off that he got
Carlos Brathwaite further revealed that after the pacer got him out, he told him to remember his name. But in a hilarious turn of events, the West Indies all-rounder stated that he doesn't remember his name but lauded the pacer for being a good competitor. He explained:
"He said, remember his name. And I don't. That's real bad of me. That's great, isn't it. He used to play at Gloucester. Tall lefty. Good competitor. Real skilful."
Brathwaite last played for West Indies in 2019 during the ICC World Cup. He scored a sensational century against New Zealand but couldn't take his team home. He played 88 matches across formats for West Indies.
